Time to publish

When I completed my BA in journalism in 1970 – an eternity ago, I began to dream of publishing my own works. In the early days, it was a hot-type environment and personal publishing was not a viable option both with typesetting and printing.

I have watched the industry move through the different typesetting eras, from hot type to photo typesetting to desktop publishing; however, the publishing part still required a printing press and up-front funding that I never had. With the advent of the digital age and web site hosting, I finally decided to reignite my dream of publishing, only in a digital world.

Rather than another “great American novel,” I plan to keep with simple things. Cooking has become my avocation, and you will see my digital cookbook expand over time. I still have two ideas for novels, and I may explore developing those.

Photography was another part of my first career, and it is still a love. I will share some of my favorite photos over time in the hope that someone may enjoy them, also.

You will also see information for the Texas Computer Education Tech Crew. This is a group of volunteers who provide the back-end support for the TCEA annual conference.

  2. What a great door to open. It’s an opportunity that dad would have enjoyed. Can’t wait to see what’s first. So, no Russian war novels?

    1. I have had a Russian-related war novel floating around for years, but I am about 30 years too late for it to be relevant. And I expect Tom Clancy has already done most of the story lines anyway.
